To whom it may concern,
I am an inmate at State Farm Enterprise Unit. My name is Keith A. Self. I am 68 years old and I have a number of health issues, which at this time, especially, is causing a great deal of stress. On top of which I have not been able to see my family, as well as my newest great grandson.
There are a number of concerns here at this unit, one of which is keeping inmates in different living areas separated. This is done only when it benefits the administration. Other measures are supposed to be in place that check incoming staff, but are only done, again, when it suits the administration. these things are only measures that are taken, mainly on paper.
I have been incarcerated for over 3 1/2 decades, and was given a life sentence, not the death penalty, which I fear may be the case now. Also, I was recently diagnosed with cancer, so I fall into the category of most susceptible: 1) over 65 years old, 2) pre-existing health issues (asthmatic), 3) cancer patient. As well this covid-19 “early release” only affects inmates who are already in or going into the re-entry programs and due to be released anyway.
Something needs to be done to help the older population of which whom have already done twenty or more years with good institutional history and/or health issues.
Respectfully,
Keith A. Self
